Conference Rooms are easy to plan right? Just get a table and some chairs. So many clients call us up and say we just redesigned our conference room and we need a to get it furnished. We say ok. 99% of the time, the client did not think about the technology considerations of a conference room. So here is an example of a conversation we have with clients in this situation.
Think Spaces: Tell us what you are looking to accomplish
Client: We need to have a table in our conference room that will hold 12-16 people.
Think Spaces: What is the primary use of the conference room?
Client: We have our weekly staff meetings in here in addition to doing client presentations.
Think Spaces: Ok, and do you need internet & phones in the conference room?
Client: Yes
Think Spaces: How about computers, such as laptops and a projection device?
Client: Yes!
Think Spaces: (This is where we CRINGE) Great did you get electrical, phone and data hook-ups in the center of the conference room so we can run it up through the top of the table?
Client: Uhhhh-No we did not think about that!
What does this mean? If they do not redo the conference room (at an added cost) and put the proper hookups in the floor, they will have cords running from the wall to the table, not only looking bad, but could become a hazard as well.
